Gordon Leads Magic Over Pacers

In a game Orlando needed to win, Aaron Gordon came through when the Magic needed him. He scored 11 of his team high 23 points as the Magic defeated the Indiana Pacers by the score of 121-116.

Besides the 23 points, Gordon added 10 rebounds and 7 assists as the Magic moved to 38-39 on the season. On a night where Brooklyn and Detroit both won, Miami playing in New York and Charlotte having the night off, this win was huge.

Orlando with the win and a Heat loss would move back into the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Indiana’s loss puts them back into a tie for the final home court spot in the playoffs. Indiana had a chance to take over the 4th spot.

The Magic used three point shooting to defeat a Pacers team that had lost to Boston on the road last night. Orlando hit 15 shots from deep and Gordon hit 3 of them in the final quarter.

The Magic are now a perfect 5-0 this season when Aaron hits 4 or more three pointers in a game this season. His first one in the fourth quarter have the Magic a one point lead and they never gave up the lead for the rest of the game.

His second one of the quarter sparked a 8-0 run that was capped off by Terrance Ross hitting a three of his own to give the Magic a 107-98 lead with 6:50 left in the game.

Aaron’s last one of the quarter came after using a pump fake to get Thaddeus Young in the air and made an uncontested wide open three pointer to put Orlando up by 9.

Orlando’s final game of their three game road trip ends on Monday night as they travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors.

Darrin Collison led the Pacers with a game high 24 points and 9 assists. Bojan Bogdanovic had 22 points and 7 rebounds.Indiana will have a back to back set of games against the Detroit Pistons starting on Monday night.
