Best Home Opening Games for the 2019-2020 Season

With the NBA schedule being released on Monday afternoon, one of the most exciting games on every teams schedule is the home opener. No matter if it’s the team’s first game or 6th game of the season, the first time in front of the home fans always gets the fan base going early in the season. So with that being said I had time to take a look at the all of the home opening games and rank them from 1-30.

The way I ranked the games is based on a 4 categories with each one being scored on a 1-5 (5 being the highest)

  • The actual team that coming to town
  • The actual matchup
  • How excited the home fans will be to see this game
  • How entertaining the game will be to watch

Then I added points for the number of combined all-stars (That were all last year’s all-star team) and players that are ranked in my top 100 overall player rankings. Then match-ups got bonus points if it is being televised on national TV. (TNT/ESPN earned 3 points and NBATV earned 1 point).
